These are original solid plaster cornices in a Port Melbourne terrace built in the 1800's
Here is an image of SGP in the process of restoring the original solid plaster cornice in this Port Melbourne Terrace, after the current sage in this photo we have sanding and detail to be applied.
One of Victorias more prominent cornices found throughout period buildings in Melbourne and Victoria as a whole.
This one was so large we had to make a custom mitre box onsite just to cut as our large mitre box was tiny in comparison.
These original solid plaster cornices in Brunswick had mostly fallen down by tracing a portion of the existing cornice and creating a cornice jig we can recreate them in-situ on the ceiling.
It is a lengthy process recreating these cornices, at this stage in the process we have multiple coats and already polished twice we are up to sanding this coat sculpting some additional detail before a final coat and sand.
